Shortlist Planable when your Rella replacement needs to bring different kinds of marketing content into one review process. Consider HeyOrca when the client calendar is the center of the job. Look at Buffer when production already lives elsewhere and you mainly need social drafts, scheduling and channel-level permissions.

Staying with Rella is also a reasonable option if your team uses its client-specific projects, tasks and media libraries heavily. Replacing a scheduler is relatively contained. Rebuilding the production system around it can take considerably more work.

Start with the Rella workflow you need to keep

Rella's Social Spaces separate each client's channels, calendar, projects, tasks and media. The support documentation says additional spaces do not carry an extra charge. That makes the space itself a poor reason to switch without considering the rest of the subscription. A replacement priced per client workspace could change your costs as the client roster grows. Rella Social Spaces.

Write down what your team actually uses during one campaign:

  • Drafts waiting for internal editing
  • Shoot dates, production tasks and project notes
  • Approved images and video files
  • A client's feedback and final sign-off
  • The social accounts that will publish the finished work

If the first three already live in another project-management or storage tool, a smaller publishing app may fit. If they all live in Rella, evaluate where each will go before comparing subscription prices.

Planable: compare broader content planning and approval rules

Planable's Universal Content is relevant when a campaign includes material beyond scheduled social posts. It provides a shared place to plan and collaborate on marketing content. That can reduce the number of separate review conversations, but planning a piece of content does not automatically mean the tool publishes it to the destination you use. Verify the actual publishing route for each format. Planable Universal Content.

The approval tier is important. Planable's pricing separates optional approval from required approval on Pro, with multi-level approvals on Enterprise. Pro lists 150 posts per workspace per month, ten social pages and unlimited users. A workspace is a separate client, brand or location. Planable plans.

Shortlist it if the difficult part of your current process is getting the right people to review the right version. During evaluation, bring a real production task as well as a social draft. Decide whether that task has an adequate home or must remain in another tool. See the Planable review for the broader product comparison.

HeyOrca: compare client-calendar operations

HeyOrca organizes each brand into its own social calendar and workspace, with content planning, feedback and approvals connected to that client. This is a close fit to evaluate when the account manager and client mostly need to agree on what will go live and when. HeyOrca's calendar.

Its paid plans list ten social accounts per calendar and unlimited users. Workspaces can have different plans, so a client that needs reporting or other extras need not automatically determine the configuration for every client. Price the actual calendar mix and add-ons together. HeyOrca pricing.

The useful evaluation question is whether the client can review a month's work with fewer explanations from your team. Also check where a shoot task, unpublished asset and production note belong. A well-organized publishing calendar may still leave production work in another application. The HeyOrca review covers its wider feature set.

Buffer: compare a smaller publishing workflow

Buffer offers shared content planning, notes on drafts, approval workflows and permissions assigned to individual channels. That makes it a candidate when you want to simplify the publishing part of the process while keeping projects and assets in the tools your team already uses. Buffer collaboration.

Before inviting clients into a shared Buffer organization, check its Team-plan tag visibility rule: organization users can see tagged posts from channels they cannot otherwise access, so channel permissions alone do not establish client separation. Buffer tag visibility.

Collaboration belongs in the paid-plan comparison. Buffer's Free plan is for one user; the Team plan includes unlimited team members and approval workflows. Calculate the subscription using every connected channel you need, rather than counting brands alone. Two brands with three profiles each need a six-channel comparison. Buffer pricing.

Shortlist Buffer when production organization is already solved. Avoid assuming a social calendar will replace your shoot board, asset taxonomy or client project archive. Read the Buffer review alongside a list of the separate tools you will keep.

Separate paid editors from client reviewers

A client who only views, comments or approves Rella content does not need a paid membership. A person who edits needs to be added to the subscription. Members share the same plan tier and billing frequency. The Editor role is also restricted: it can edit existing content, tasks and notes in assigned spaces, while broader setup and scheduling responsibilities belong to higher roles. Rella member permissions.

For a concrete budget, take an owner, one additional editing teammate and an external reviewer. The first two require two seats; the reviewer does not become a third paid editor merely by giving feedback. Rella's displayed annual prices give this calculation:

ConfigurationAnnual bill for two seatsMonthly equivalent
ProUS$576US$48
PremiumUS$1,152US$96
Premium PlusUS$1,536US$128

These are two-seat calculations from annual per-seat bills of US$288, US$576 and US$768. They exclude any tax and are not month-to-month subscription quotes. Rella pricing.

Approval requirements decide which comparison is meaningful. Pro uses custom statuses rather than Approve and Reject controls. Premium allows Anyone or one named approver; Premium Plus allows unlimited named approvers. Requiring approval before auto-post is configurable. A visible “Approved” status and a publishing gate are different things to check. Rella approval settings.

Rebuild a two-brand example before committing

Use a small sample that exposes the hard parts of switching. Create Brand A and Brand B, one draft for each, a shoot task, an asset folder, one editing teammate and one external reviewer. Use this evaluation worksheet.

Scroll sideways to compare every column.

ItemWhat a successful replacement needs to demonstrate
Client separationBrand A's reviewer cannot see Brand B's drafts, notes or media
Editing rolesThe teammate can do the required editing without unnecessary billing or account controls
Production taskSomeone owns the shoot task and can find its deadline beside the relevant work
AssetsThe correct approved version stays easy to identify and reuse
Sign-offThe required person can approve, and unapproved work cannot publish if that is your rule
Changes after approvalThe team can see what happened to sign-off when the caption or media changed
Scheduled contentAccount, format, time zone and final version remain clear before publishing

Run the review as the client would, including on a phone. If account-free review is essential, use the more specific client approvals without an account guide to check the difference between viewing, commenting and formal approval.

What needs rebuilding when you switch?

Do not assume comments, approval history, task assignments or folders will transfer with a CSV of post text. List what can be exported, what the destination accepts, and what must be recreated. Keep a separate record of outstanding client decisions so a missing comment does not become an accidental approval.

Choose a cutover point and review both queues. Move or cancel overlapping scheduled work deliberately to avoid duplicate publishing. Keep access to the old records until the replacement contains the material you need and its permissions have been checked.

The practical choice is the product that removes your current bottleneck with an acceptable amount of rebuilding. Start with Planable for broader content review, HeyOrca for client-calendar operations or Buffer for focused social publishing. Keep Rella on the shortlist when its production spaces are doing useful work that you would otherwise have to recreate. Our Rella review remains the place for its current product and plan details.
